The choice is up to you! You can bring your own wardrobe or use the full maternity wardrobe with dresses or you can choose to be show more and be tastefully covered up. Alternatively you could choose to use beautiful fabrics draped across your body to accentuate your form and hide any areas of your body that you would rather not be in the portraits.
If someone else will be joining you in the session I advise to select clothing and accessories that do not distract from the main subject: your bump! Jeans and singlets look great or a fitted dress that curves around your bump. Wear neutral, white or dark clothing without patterns. If you would like different looks, feel free to bring a second outfit.
If you have something of importance that you would like to include in your portraits please bring it along. A family heirloom, a beautiful gift from a friend or an adorable pair of shoes that you couldn't help purchasing. Your hands and toes will be in the pictures, so consider a manicure, or trim your nails at home.
Professional hair and makeup can be booked for $120.
What time is best to schedule my Maternity Session?
For sessions in the studio the best time to schedule Maternity Sessions is between 1030 and midday. A indoor maternity studio session is currently included with every newborn booking. For outdoor sessions the best time to schedule is for an 1-1.5 hours before sunset.
Can I have all the unedited photos?
An unedited image is a raw ingredient. If you were a chef of a restaurant, you wouldn't let a customer order a plate of raw chicken no matter how much they begged. I definitely take more photographs than you will see, this is to ensure quality of the images you will receive. As a professional photographer I consider my photographs to be art and the final product is what you will see.
